Our New Place | Knuths in. Germs out.

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Today I thought it’d be fun to show y’all a little virtual “tour” of the new #knuthkrib! If you missed why we moved you can read about it here.

Since our house in Indianapolis still hasn’t sold, all of our furniture is still there so it can be “staged” for potential buyers. Even though this one is still pretty bare (minus the Christmas decor I brought with me ha!), I thought I’d go ahead and show what it looked like when we moved in. I’ll post some “after” pictures whenever we get everything all set up (hopefully soon).

Ok so first up is the Kitchen. I love it! I’ve had white cabinets in the last three places I’ve lived so I’m excited to switch it up! I’ve been pinning a ton of home inspo pics lately (for our build next year) and surprisingly most of them have had colored or darker cabinets. I’m glad I’ll get to “try” these out for a year and see how I like them.

This is the Living Room. We’ve got the essentials, a T.V. and  Christmas Tree.

Ok the middle picture is our bedroom. To the left is just a cute little shelf area that I already filled up with my Christmas stuff, and to the right is our mini mudroom.

Left = Master Bath. Right = Our closet.

The left is the boy’s bedroom and the right is my beautiful new office (aka the corner by the laundry room).

And that’s it! Nothing big or glamorous but so far we love it. I’m kind of excited to have a smaller area to pick up/clean and REALLY excited not to have to take care of a yard next year while Kent is gone. I think it will be the perfect size for me and the boys and we really love our building. It has a pool, a gym, a playground and some walking trails all right here. Plus we’re super close to my parents and my brother so the location is perfect.

We were staying over at my parent’s house while we unpacked BUT the boys got the stomach flu so I decided to bring them over to our new place to avoid my getting my parents sick (which worked!). I spent our first day here taking care of them and CLEANING EVERYTHING. Anyone else like that? I had ordered a big box of cleaning stuff from Uniquely J (a new brand of everyday essentials from Jet) the day we left Indiana. They have 2 day shipping so it worked out perfectly that it showed up on the day we were moving in. I’m pretty sure having everything clean was one of the only things that helped me keep my sanity that first week. Between moving, the boys being sick, living out of boxes, and Kent being gone (back to Indiana for work), having our place looking and smelling fresh and clean was a lifesaver.

We recently switched to Uniquely J products because I wanted to find new cleaning products that didn’t have all the harsh chemicals that our previous cleaners had. I never really paid attention to what kind of cleaners I was using or what was in them until I had kids. Seeing how they crawl, and lay, and eat off and lick every surface of our home, makes me way more conscious about what I’m using to wipe all this stuff down. All the Uniquely J cleaning products are non-GMO with no added fragrances, bleach or dyes!

So far we’ve tried out the glass cleaner, the all-purpose cleaner and the wood floor cleaner and love them all. They work great and aren’t streaky. They have fragrance free options, but I love their cherry almond and lemon-thyme basil scents.

The boys love “helping” me clean and it makes me feel good knowing we’re using safe products on the new pad. So far we’ve only tried their cleaning stuff but Uniquely J has a ton of other basic stuff we use every day. You get free shipping whenever you spend $35, so I’m already planning our order for next week. I’m getting some paper goods, snacks for the boys and of course Kent wants to try out their “Badass Espresso“. Here’s some of the stuff on my list for next week’s order.

It feels so good to be in our new home! I can’t wait to get everything set up and decorated. Lots more “after” pictures to come in the (hopefully) near future!
