Knuths go to Austria | Part 5 | Zurich/Lucerne/Titlis Switzerland

Hey Everybody! Today I finally finished this last post about our trip to Austria and Switzerland! If you missed the other ones, you can read part 1 here, part 2 here, part 3 here, and part 4 here. Today’s post is going to be about our time in Switzerland (which was way too short).

This first pic was just out for a coffee run with the hubs our last morning in Salzburg. I realized I didn’t include it in my last post and this was one of my most liked outfits so I wanted to share it here too. I’ll link all the outfit details under the pic. This exact jacket is a few years old, so I linked some similar ones that would give you the same look.

The train ride from Salzburg to Zurich is UNREAL! It was cloudy and snowing for a lot of it but our views were still AMAZING! You go right through the Alps and you really get a sense of how big they are being that close to them. We also got to ride through Germany and Liechtenstein so we got to check two more countries off our list (Although we definitely want to go back and spend more time in Germany at some point)!

The apartment that we stayed at in Zurich was my favorite one from our whole trip! We LOVED it and definitely want to go back! You can view more pictures of it and get all the info on renting it here! Not only is it decorated to perfection, but it had the most incredible views of the river and the city AND it’s right in the heart of downtown with tons of restaurants and shopping all around you! We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Zurich!

Our second day in Switzerland, we did the only “excursion” we had booked for our whole trip. To be honest, I wasn’t super excited about it, mostly because I didn’t know what I was in for. My dad had been watching all these videos on YouTube of people who had visited Switzerland and he found some video a man had made of his day trip to Mount Titlis and my dad insisted that we needed to do this. Kent and I rarely do group activities when we travel or plan out excursions like this in advance. We usually just show up and wake up and wing it haha! But my Dad really thought this would be cool so we booked it ahead of time and you guys….BEST DECISION EVER! The day that we spent here was my favorite day of the whole trip (minus Kent and my Dad cracking jokes about Mount “Titlis” all day).

There are absolutely no words for the views we saw that day. All I can say to everyone is “Go! Go! GO!” You literally feel like you’re on top of the world! *Side Note*  My Mom is horrified of heights, but she was totally fine so don’t let that stop you. It is just the most breathtaking, majestic place I’ve ever seen.

My Mom and Dad. I love them so much! Dad kept saying that he felt like he was in a James Bond movie haha!

We spent the whole day here, and it was one of the best days of my life! They had so much to do! They had restaurants and tons of sports and family activities to do (See more here). We did the Revolving Cable Car, the Glacier Cave, ate Lunch, and snow tubed at the Glacier Park.

The boys were in heaven! They were very proud of their snowman they built too! It’s by Roman’s feet for size reference. 🙂

ROCK & ROME:

Roman’s exact jacket sold out! Just FYI the one I linked looks slightly different!

These last few pictures were taken in Lucerne, Switzerland. We did not spend nearly enough time here, or in Zurich for that matter. We were only in Switzerland for two days and I can’t tell you how many times Kent and I looked at each other and said, “We HAVE to come back here.” We absolutely fell in love with both cities! They were so clean and beautiful and when all the Christmas lights came on at night it was truly magical.

ROCK & ROME

I am so so so thankful that we were able to do this. Kent and I have always said that we will work like crazy and give up just about anything to be able to travel frequently with each other and our family. It is one thing that we spend money on that we have never regretted and the memories we made with our babies and my parents are so priceless to us.

I hope you all have enjoyed reading about our trip! If you have any questions I didn’t get answered just leave them in the comments and I’ll check back in!

Have a great weekend!

xoxo

Just curious: you wore many different chunky coats. How did you pack them all? Beautiful pics by the way!
