Knuths go to Austria | Part 4 | Hallstatt

Happy Thursday Gang! Today Kent and I are in Quebec! It is absolutely FREEZING here but our Hotel has this huge, amazing fireplace that we’re posted up in front of. Trips with just the two of us are so fun, but I always end up missing my little guys like crazy. :/ Looking back at some pics from our trip to Austria last month and I thought I’d share some more of them with y’all today!

This is the fourth post about our trip, you can read part 1 here, part 2 here and part 3 here.

On our final day in Salzburg, we rented a car so we could do a day trip out to Hallstatt. I had a picture of Hallstatt on my bucket list Pinterest board for years and as soon as we decided we were going to Austria, this was my one request for something I HAD to do while we were there. Thankfully Rocky was feeling so much better after his day of resting, so we loaded up the car and headed out to Hallstatt.

The drive we took to get there was hands down the prettiest drive of my life. If any of you have been out west to Breckenridge or Park CIty, it’s kind of like that, but on steroids! They had just had a fresh snow so everything looks like a Winter Wonderland and it was so majestic and peaceful all at the same time.

I know I mentioned it on here before, but my Mom has always dreamed about seeing the Alps. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard her say, “If I could go anywhere, I’d love to see the Alps in Switzerland and Austria…” growing up. While we were driving out there, her reaction was just so precious to me. She just kept laughing and saying, “Wow…” “Unbelievable…” “I can’t believe we’re here!” I couldn’t help but tear up watching her take it all in (Dang it I’m crying again now). I think that was my favorite part of the whole day. Watching her on that drive is my new favorite memory of her. She is just the sweetest, most precious person and I’m so happy I got to have this day with her.

Here’s a few pictures I snapped on the way there.

It took us about an hour to get there and I can’t say enough how happy I am that we did this! If you ever find yourself in Austria or near Salzburg, find a way to get to Hallstatt! It is just the most picturesque little town I’ve ever seen. The town itself is so cute, but how it’s situated in the mountains and right on the lake is just amazing. As if that wasn’t magical enough, the lake was full of swans too!

We spent the whole day there, wandering through the shops, eating lunch and sipping on the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had in my life! They had a “Sky Bridge” ride that you could do too, but we didn’t do it. I’m sure the view would be amazing though.

The boys were cracking me (and everyone else) up with their robot dancing. They had quite the little fan crowd gathered by the time they were done. Haha!

Both the boy’s shoes are oldies from Gap (linked some similar options). Rocky’s exact sweater and blazer are from Zara but I bought them for Roman a few years ago. Everything else is linked here!

My Mom and I were cracking up because we both showed up on the trip with this exact same sweater! Haha! It’s such a good basic! I love it because it’s just long enough to wear with leggings. My booties are the Brock ones. They are almost sold out so I linked another similar pair too! My coat is from Topshop and I can’t find it anymore, so I linked some similar options for that too!

We are headed back to Nashville to get our sweet boys and then off to Indiana for the weekend!

I can’t wait to see them!
