There are a lot of times that I miss living in Florida, but Fall is NOT one of them. The cooler temps. the pretty leaves…what’s not to love?
I’ve especially enjoyed getting to dress for the cooler weather (in Florida it was basically cut off shorts and flip flops everyday). Fall fashion has quickly become my absolute favorite. I love all the cozy sweaters, chunky cardigans, boots and scarves that have now become a part of my wardrobe.
One thing I learned VERY quickly my first year in Indiana, is that dressing in layers is an absolute must. Like today for example, it was 37 degrees when we woke up this morning, but it will be around 70 when I head out for my shoot later today. Or some days start out nice and warm, and then a cold front comes through and I find myself reaching for one of my sweaters. Layers for me are just the most practical way to dress most days.
Express has the absolute CUTEST cozy, Fall, layering pieces out right now. I stopped into my local Express last week and left with two bags full of sweaters, denim, booties and cardigans. I love this little tiered sleeve dress. I think the color is so perfect for fall (comes in a denim version too) and it’s lightweight so it’s great for layering. I’ll be able to wear it with scarves, higher boots, and heavier jackets as the weather gets colder too. I love dresses like this because they’re so versatile. You could easily make this one more professional to wear in the office, or dress it down for a chilly bonfire night.
I paired it with this chunky, oversized cardigan. I love cardigans in neutral colors like this because I can wear them over so many different outfits (dresses, leggings, jeans etc…).
These booties have the cutest tassel detail and the taupe color is so pretty. I also love pairing dainty jewelry with chunky sweaters and this little ring set is so cute!
